“The more I am simply willing to be myself, in all this complexity of life and the more I am willing to understand and accept the realities in myself and the other person, the more change seems to be stirred up.”
About Me
Here's what I believe about therapy: It’s not about fixing what’s wrong with you. It’s about knowing yourself more deeply than ever before.
I really love helping people develop more authentic and positive relationships with themselves and others. I practice an integrated mind/body approach to therapy that’s based on exploring thoughts, feelings and the tremendous amount of information stored deep in your body. I am a trained Brainspotting psychotherapist, which is a relatively new way to access and release trauma, pain and negative emotions.
I work with individuals and couples on a wide variety of issues including depression, anxiety, addiction, and trauma. In addition, I specialize in sexuality and relationship issues. I have a very sex-positive, inclusive and collaborative style, and my goal is to help you move toward the kind of life you want to be living.

My Training & Education
In addition to my private practice work, I am also a clinician at the Center for Healthy Sex, founded by Dr. Alexandra Katehakis, where I focus on female love and sex addiction, intimate partner betrayal trauma, and sex therapy. I developed the Women’s Love Addiction Weekend Workshop and I lead a women’s intimacy group at CHS once a week.
I received a bachelor’s degree in Media Arts from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles. I did some of my clinical training at the Antioch University Counseling Center, a community mental health clinic recognized for its emphasis on cultural diversity and LGBTQ affirmative approach. For three years, I provided psychotherapy to adolescents in the Los Angeles’ public schools, helping teenagers heal from depression, anxiety, trauma, and family conflicts.
My Background
I’ve been interested in sexuality and relationships for a long, long time. For nearly 30 years, I’ve been investigating and exploring the human sexual condition. I’ve studied it professionally as a journalist, sex educator, author, workshop leader and media producer. I’ve learned an incredible amount through my personal experiences as a partner and a parent. I’ve also spoken to and worked with thousands of people who’ve shared their intimate histories and experiences with me. Being a psychotherapist is the latest extension of my life’s work, and I’m committed to staying curious about life and love and sex until the very end.
