You deserve good relationships and good sex.

You’ve spent too long stuck in a negative loop of thoughts and actions that in the end, don’t leave you feeling very good about yourself. Ruminating on the past, obsessing about the future, repeating the same self-defeating behaviors and feeling so dissatisfied with your sex life – not to mention dealing with the sadness and anger that comes with it.

Are you ready to shift the way you show up in relationships?

Then you’ve come to the right place.

I’ll help you develop a more authentic and positive relationship with yourself and with others.  I practice an integrated mind-brain-body approach to therapy that’s based on exploring thoughts, feelings, behaviors and the tremendous amount of information stored deep in your body.  Working together, you’ll learn to identify and express how you feel and what you need in healthy ways, increase the felt-sense of calm in your body, increase your capacity for joy and improve your self-worth.

I’ve dedicated my career to sexuality and intimacy. For nearly 30 years, I’ve been investigating and exploring the ways we connect through love and sex.  I’ve studied it as a journalist, sex educator, author, workshop leader and media producer. I’ve learned an incredible amount through my personal experiences as a partner and a parent. I have my own therapist and continue to do my own healing work. I’ve spoken to and worked with thousands of people who’ve shared their intimate histories and experiences with me.

Being a sex and relationship therapist is the latest expression of my life’s work.

Training & Experience

  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, #101981

  • I am a betrayal trauma specialist and a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT) credentialled through IITAP.

  • I am a fully trained EMDR therapist.

  • I participate in ongoing master level trainings in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT).

  • I’m a member of AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists).

  • I’m trained in the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM)

  • I’ve completed training in the clinical application of the Adult Attachment Interview.

  • I am a trained Level One Brainspotting therapist, which is a relatively new way to access and release trauma, pain and negative emotions.

  • I completed the Sex & Love Addiction Treatment Training and Sex Therapy Treatment Training programs at the Center for Health Sex.

  • I’ve facilitated hundreds of therapy groups at outpatient treatment centers helping young adults in recovery from substance additions, trauma and mental health issues.

I’m currently in private practice. Previously, I was a staff clinician at the Center for Relational Healing, founded by relational trauma expert Marnie Breecker, where my focus was on healing relationships that have been traumatized by sex addiction, infidelity and betrayal. I am also a co-facilitator of the Helping Couples Heal workshops.

For years I was also a staff clinician at the Center for Healthy Sex, founded by Dr. Alexandra Katehakis, where I focused on sex therapy, female love addiction, love avoidance, and betrayal trauma. I developed the center’s 3-Day Women’s Love Addiction Weekend Workshop.  I ran a women’s intimacy group and was a group facilitator for dozens of outpatient intensives treating both sex addiction and relational trauma.

Although I am not a CSAT (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist), I have years of experience treating sex and intimacy disorders. I’ve worked with hundreds of clients and trained with the top experts in this field.
